Today I got to a place in my new quilt project where I needed to trim long sides of my quilt. I remember someone telling me they had a ruler from Lowes. So, off I went and found a 72″ ruler for $10.98 at Lowes.
That is a long ruler. I also bought a 90 degree square ruler for $11.97 that is 16 X 24 inches. Now, I’m in business!
Here’s a peek at the new quilt!
My new quilt is named ” A Tribute to the Quilters of Gees Bend”. I’m looking forward to a trip to Gees Bend soon.
The quilt looks fabulous!!
Thanks so much. I have just spent an hour going through all the beautiful quilts on your Flickr site. I love them all and would love to learn the quilt as you go. It would be a great time saver.
Thanks, Diane…I don’t if it actually saves time but sure saves ones sanity when doing a larger quilt.
Thanks for the hint on the rulers! I’m stopping at Lowe’s on the way home 🙂
Love it, Diane. The rulers sound great. I have a quilting ruler for squaring called a Salem ruler. It costs way more than the square ruler but does the same thing. You go girl!
That’s going to be a beautiful quilt, Diane. I can see why it makes you think of the Gees Bend quilters. Suellen
